FitGenie is developed by Fahad Saeed. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the FitGenie Android application.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following information to provide our services:

Account Information: Name, email address when you register or sign in with Google.
Fitness Data: Workout logs, step counts, nutrition entries, and health goals you enter manually.
Photos: Images you choose to upload for meal scanning (via camera or gallery). These are sent to Google Gemini AI for nutritional analysis.
Profile Photo: Optional profile picture stored in Firebase Storage.
Google Fit Data: Steps, calories, and activity data if you choose to connect Google Fit (optional).
Device Data: Step count data from your device's pedometer sensor.

2. How We Use Your Information

To provide personalized fitness tracking, workout plans, and nutrition logging.
To power the AI coach (Gemini AI) with your goals and intake data for better suggestions.
To analyze meal photos for calorie and macro estimation.
To sync your data across sessions using Firebase Firestore.
To send daily reminder notifications (workout, water, nutrition logging).

3. Camera Permission

FitGenie requests camera access solely for the AI Meal Scanner feature, which allows you to photograph food for nutritional analysis. Camera access is only used when you explicitly tap the meal scanner. We do not access your camera in the background.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

Firebase (Google): Authentication, database, and file storage. Firebase Privacy Policy
Google Gemini AI: AI-powered meal analysis and fitness coaching. Google Privacy Policy
Google Fit: Optional fitness data integration. Google Privacy Policy
Google Sign-In: Optional authentication method.

5. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely in Firebase Firestore with strict security rules.
Local data is stored using Hive encrypted storage on your device.
We do not sell your personal data to any third parties.
API keys and sensitive credentials are never exposed in the app.

6. Data Retention

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data by contacting us at the email below.

7. Children's Privacy

FitGenie is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you.
Request deletion of your data.
Disconnect Google Fit integration at any time from the Profile screen.
Disable notifications from the Notification Settings screen.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the new policy.
